Let me be blunt: the most valuable thing a vendor ever told me was “no.”

So next time you vet a vendor, ask them what they’re not good at. If they can’t answer, that’s a red flag. And if they tell you honestly where their line is, thank them. It’s not a limitation — it’s a promise that the things they do handle are going to be done right. In the rush-order world, that’s worth more than any “we can do everything” pitch.
